This fishing trip will take Lee Russell (my brother inlaw) and myself about 50 miles out into
the Alaska wilderness. We will leave Juneau in this floatplane and go where the Salmon are entering a small river to
go upstream and spawn. We will be about halfway between Skagway and Juneau. They say there are a lot
of Grizzly bears that are fishing there also. It will be about 20 miles to the nearest road.

This has been the most exciting fishing trip I have ever been on. We were using flyrods
and hand-tied flies with barbless hooks for catch and release. We lost count of the number we caught, they would
hit on almost every cast. After about 2 hrs we had to rest, our arms were so tired. The line and rods would only handle up
to about 15 lbs, then the line would break. We were catching the Pink Salmon, every once in a while we would hang a big
"Chum" and the line would snap soon as they hit. We were wading in chest waders, the fish were so thick in
the water they would hit us on the legs. This is not just another tall fishing tale either. I've never seen anything like
it, I can't wait to go back....... Wow! what a great time we had.
